Obituary of Charles S Viola
Charles S. “Charlie” Viola, 79, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday morning, March 31. He was the husband of Joan M. (McCaigue) Viola for 54 years, and father to Charles “Chuck” Viola.
Born and raised in Cambridge, he was the son of the late Cosmo, and the late Virginia (Sodi) Viola. Charlie and his wife Joan came to Woburn in 1976. Prior to his retirement, he owned and operated Micro Image III Inc. in Everett, providing microfilm services to the biotech industry and universities.
Charlie enjoyed gardening and being in the sun. He especially loved traveling and cruising, and had recently been on cruises to Bermuda and the Caribbean. He was also a local sports fan, and an amateur weather watcher. Charlie loved his dog Princess dearly; she was his second child and best friend.
In addition to his wife Joan, Charlie is survived by one son, Charles “Chuck” Viola of Woburn. He is also survived by his siblings, Benedict “Benny” Viola and his wife Mary of Arlington, Florence Owens and her husband Robert of Roslindale, Mary Fancieullo and her husband Frank of Everett, and his twin sister Alice Leman and her husband Robert of Malden. Charlie is further survived by many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, cousins, and his faithful dog Princess.
