Obituary of Eleanor T Richards
Eleanor T. (Wickham) Richards, 91, of Waltham, passed away at Benchmark Senior Living in Woburn on Monday morning, May 11. She was the wife of the late James E. Richards who died in 2011.
Born in Brighton and raised in Charlestown, she was the daughter of the late Michael, and the late Marion (Rich) Wickham. Eleanor graduated from Brighton High School late in life in 1969. This was a great achievement for her, and she was very proud to have worked to pay for her education.
After graduation, she worked for Verizon in directory assistance until retirement. She loved the beach and traveling to different places. She was a quiet and reserved woman, who was devoted to her family.
Eleanor’s family would like to extend a very heartfelt thank you for the wonderful nurses at benchmark of Woburn and Continuum Care Hospice of MA & NH, who were, and continue to be such selfless individuals.
In addition to her husband James, Eleanor was preceded in death by her son, the late Michael J. Richards.
She is survived by one son, James E. “Jimmy” Richards of Somerville, and two grandchildren, Heidi Richards and Michael Richards, both of Woburn. She is also survived by one great grandson, Aiden Teves of Woburn.
Eleanor will be interred with her late husband at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne. Due to the current coronavirus pandemic, services will be private. Arrangements by the Graham Funeral Home, Woburn.
