Obituary of Berj Zamanian

erj Zamanian, 89, a longtime resident of Burlington, passed away on Thursday, May 14. He was the husband of Marjorie (David) Zamanian. Berj grew up in Brockton and Bridgewater. He was one of four children of the late Hrant, and the late Yagsabet (Sarafian) Zamanian. He had lived in Watertown before coming to Burlington 50 years ago. Prior to his retirement in 1994, Berj was employed as an Electrical Engineer at Draper Labs. He worked on many projects during his career, including rocket and missile tracking systems and he was involved in systems supporting the moon landings. Berj was a private and quiet man. He enjoyed gardening, and most of all loved spending time with his family. In addition to his wife Marjorie, Berj is survived by one daughter, Jennifer Zamanian and her husband Theodore Schram of Emerald Hills, California; one son, Alex Zamanian and his partner Tricia Crockett of Sudbury. He is also survived by two grandchildren, Eric and Anna Schram. Berj was the brother of Marjorie Sayabalian of Gardnerville, Nevada and her husband the late Hagop, The late Mathilda Masrof and her husband Krikor of Waltham, and the late Loris Zamanian and his wife Maresa of Milton. He is further survived by many nieces and nephews. Due to the current coronavirus pandemic, services will be private. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Berj’s memory may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 309 Waverley Oaks Rd., Waltham, MA 02452. Arrangements by the Graham Funeral Home, Woburn.
