Obituary of Norine M Rochon

Norine M. (Kiniry) Rochon, of Woburn, passed away on Thursday morning, July 30, at the age of 92. She was the beloved wife of Robert A. Rochon. Born and raised in Arlington, Norine was the daughter of the late Patrick and Margaret Kiniry. Following graduation from Arlington High School, she worked as Billing Supervisor for Ruscraft Greeting Cards & Publishing in Boston. In 1952, Norine married Robert A. Rochon. For the following 68 years, Norine fulfilled her utmost desire to care for and support her family. She was devoted to her husband and children, Susan Murphy and her husband Chuck of Woburn, David Rochon of Arizona, and Jerry Rochon and his wife Renae of Arizona. She was the adored “Nana Norine” to her grandchildren, Mike Murphy and his wife Casey, Megan Murphy and her husband Jonathan Nussman, Bobby Rochon and his fiancé Jordana Canada, William Rochon, and Connor Rochon. She is also survived by her great grandchildren, Lindsey and Luke Murphy and several loving nieces and nephews. The matriarch of her family, she was also a caregiver to her beloved parents and a pillar of strength for her loved ones. Norine was predeceased by her sister, the late Elizabeth “Betty” Kelley and her brothers, the late John, Buddy and Bill Kiniry. Norine enjoyed some special trips to places like Arizona, Vermont, Cape Cod, and her parents’ hometown in County Cork, Ireland. An unwavering Boston Red Sox fan, she and her husband spent many memorable evenings behind the first base line at Fenway Park. She maintained a very impressive knowledge of Red Sox players and statistics. Norine loved these experiences, but her favorite place to be was anywhere surrounded by her family. Friends and relatives are invited to a celebration of Norine’s life at a later date.
