Obituary of Janice Shannon

Janice (Jensen) Shannon, at 69 years old, passed suddenly and unexpectedly on Friday evening October 9, 2020. She was the wife of the late Warren “Cal” Shannon who passed in 2009. Janice was born in Malden, MA to the late Lorraine E. (LeBlanc) and Robert E. Jensen. She was raised in Woburn and graduated from Woburn High School. Janice was the rock of her family and the void she has left can never be filled. She was a very generous and thoughtful person. You could always expect to receive a greeting card from Janice on your birthday. She never forgot a birthday! Janice worked on the Shannon Farm in her younger days with her husband Cal. Since her retirement she has suffered from Multiple Sclerosis and was taken care of by her devoted and loving daughters. Janice was the devoted mother to Tina Greene and Todd Jensen, of Woburn, Tammy Greene (Jason Hardin) of Billerica and Tracy Jensen-Peterson (Sam Peterson) of California. She was the doting grandmother to her two granddaughters, Cali and Skye. Janice was one of 8 children, she is survived by her sister Elizabeth (Betty Ann) Domings of Brockton, Robert Jensen of Woburn and California, John Jensen of Wilmington, Barbara Saunders of Tewksbury, Scott Jensen of Dorchester, Chris Jensen of Chelmsford and Lisa Jensen of Maine. She is also survived by her mother out of love, Carolyn (Sullivan) Jensen. And Janice is further survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins. She is predeceased by her mother Lorraine, her father Robert, and the love of her life, Cal Shannon. Visiting hours for Janice will be at the Graham Funeral Home, 3 Arlington Rd., Woburn on Saturday morning, October 17 from 9:00 -11:00 am, followed by a graveside service at the Woodbrook Cemetery, 100 Salem St., Woburn at 11:30 am. Per current Covid-19 restrictions, we kindly ask that that everyone in attendance wear a face covering, and observe social distancing guidelines during all services and venues.
