Obituary of Charles DuPont

Charles DuPont of Boston, a former longtime resident of Cambridge, passed away at the St. Elizabeth’s Medical Center in Brighton on Wednesday Morning, November 18. He was 85 years of age. Charles was born and raised in Cambridge. He served as a Military Police Officer in the U.S. Army in the 1950s. He was a devoted Catholic, and as a young man he had spent some years as a religious Brother in a Monastery in Arizona. Charles then returned to Massachusetts and began working at Boston College in the groundskeeping department, retiring in 2000. Charles is remembered by his family and friends as a true humanitarian, who never hesitated to help those in need. Charles is survived by many cousins, including Frank MacDonald and his wife Joan of Plymouth, Jean Brush of Eastham, and Elizabeth Herrick and her husband Jim of Exeter, NH. Services will be private. Arrangements by the Graham Funeral Home, Woburn.
