Obituary of Robert E Elmstrom

Robert E. “Bob” Elmstrom, 78, passed away peacefully on Friday morning, December 4 after an illness of several months. Bob was born on February 15, 1942, son of the late Clarence and the late Sarah (Given) Elmstrom. Bob graduated from Woburn High School, with the Class of 1960. He married Kay (Fucarile) in 1963. They spent 57 years together, and brought three children into this world. After graduation, Bob furthered his education, and took a position at Tracerlab in Waltham. After a few years, he left Tracerlab and went to work for the City of Woburn, and transferred to the Water Department. Bob took the civil service exam, passed, and was promoted to Foreman of the Water Department. He enjoyed his position until retiring in 2003, after 31 years with the City of Woburn. Bob and Kay traveled to Saint Pete Beach in Florida, where they had a condominium. Their summers and Weekends were spent at Hampton Beach, where they had a house. Bob and Kay also enjoyed many trips to Bermuda, as will as trips to Mohegan Sun Casino. In addition to his wife Kay, Bob is also survived by one son, Robert A. Elmstrom and his wife Linda (Leary) of Billerica; two daughters, Karyn Elmstrom of Woburn and Sharyn Visconti and her husband Paul of Shrewsbury; and one granddaughter, Lillian “Lily V.” of Billerica. Bob is also survived by his sister, Edith (Elmstrom) Wood and her son Terrence Wood. Due to ongoing covid-19 restrictions, a private burial will take place at the Woodbrook Cemetery in Woburn.
