Obituary of Anna L Merlin

Anna L. (Bradford) Merlin, 66, of Malden, formerly of South Boston, passed away after a brief illness on Thursday evening, December 17. She was the wife of the late Douglas A. Merlin who died in 2006. Born in Somerville on July 31, 1954, she was the daughter of the late Francis, and the late Edith (Thumith) Bradford. Anna had been a longtime resident of South Boston before coming to Malden 8 years ago. Anna worked as an office manager for the Boston Public School Department. She retired in 2016 after almost 20 years of service. Anna loved shopping, and her favorite time of year was Christmas. Anna is survived by her son, Doug Merlin of Gloucester; her daughter-in-law Megan Merlin of Gloucester; her granddaughter, Eve Merlin; and her brothers and sisters, Richard Bradford, Robert Bradford, Dianne Ledo, Elaine Bradford, and James Bradford. Anna is also survived by her family, including Heather McCarthy of South Boston; Heather’s children Melissa McQueen and her husband Chris McQueen, and Hannah McCarthy; and Jonathan McCarthy, and Jayden and Kinsley McQueen, who Anna loved as her own grandchildren. A graveside service will be held at the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Connery Ave., Bourne on Monday, January 4, 2021 at 11:00 am. Due to current covid-19 restrictions, there will be no visiting hours, and graveside services will be restricted to 25 attendees. We kindly ask that that everyone in attendance wear a face covering, and observe social distancing guidelines during all services.
