Obituary of Elizabeth M Pickett

Elizabeth M. “Betty” (Graves) Pickett, 98, passed away at the Bear Hill Nursing Home on Friday, December 25. She was the wife of the late Lewis W. Pickett, Jr. who died in 1993. Born in Malden, she was the daughter of the late Ernest, and the late Elsie (Parsons) Graves. Betty had served with the United States Marine Corps during World War II. She earned her Honorable Discharge, as a Corporal. Prior to her retirement, Betty had worked as a secretary for Woburn Public Schools. Betty is survived by four sons and daughters, James Pickett and his wife Deanna, Janice Reily and her husband James, Nancy Pickett, and David Pickett; and she was preceded in death by one son, the late Lawrence Pickett. An hour of visitation will be at the Graham Funeral Home, 3 Arlington Rd., Woburn on Tuesday morning, January 5 from 10:00-11:00 am, followed by a graveside service at the Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, 185 Lake St. (off Route 1 South), Peabody at 11:45 am. Per current Covid-19 restrictions, we kindly ask that that everyone in attendance wear a face covering, and observe social distancing guidelines during all services.
