Obituary of Sylvia A. (Pierce) King

Sylvia A. (Pierce) King a.k.a “Pinkie”, a lifelong resident of Woburn, passed away very suddenly on June 13, 2024. She was 82 years of age. Sylvia was born in Woburn, Massachusetts on December 21, 1941 the daughter of the late James W. Pierce, Sr. and Mabel Lorrain (Larsen) Pierce. Sylvia was a graduate of Woburn High School class of 1959. Sylvia was the loving wife of the late Francis W. King, Jr. Mother to Christina Hay and her husband Eric of Fenton, Michigan, the late William F. King and the late James F. King, both from Woburn. She was the loving grandmother of Ryan and Kayla Hay. Sister of Linda Joy and her husband Dan of Florida, James W. Pierce, Jr. and his wife Miriam of Woburn, and Phillip Pierce and his wife Sandra of Manchester, New Hampshire. She also leaves behind several nephews. Sylvia and her husband Fran, loved to go to Westford, MA to Wyman’s Beach seasonal campground with family and friends for many years making new lifelong friends and wonderful memories while playing cards, bingo, horseshoes and dancing on the basketball court on Saturday nights. She loved doing her different craft projects over the years and earned the CB handle of “Crafty Lady”. This was appropriate as for a time she did also work at the former LeeWards craft store in Burlington. She was a country music fan and a huge fan of Elvis Presley! Sylvia was retired from Winchester Savings Bank where she worked in Commercial Lending for many years. In the most recent years, she enjoyed activities with her friends at the Woburn Senior Center. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, June 27 at the Graham Funeral home 3 Arlington Rd. (Corn. of Pleasant St.) in Woburn at 10am. Burial will follow at Woodbrook Cemetery in Woburn.
