Obituary of Elaine M George

Elaine M. George, of Lynnfield, a former longtime resident of Wilmington, passed away after a brief illness on Saturday, January 9. She was 62 years of age. Born in Heraklion Greece, Elaine lived in Cambridge and moved to Wilmington where she was raised. Elaine was the daughter of the late John George and the late Georgia “Jean” (Douvris) George. Elaine attended Triangle and NuPath where she successfully completed Certificates of Achievement in a number of programs. She was an avid sketcher and artist and competed in several art shows. Elaine faithfully attended church and enjoyed participating in Sunday School classes with church youth. She had a genuine love for family and friends and she touched many people’s lives. She loved animals, sports cars, music, and socializing. In addition to her parents, Elaine was preceded in death by her brother, the late Peter George. Elaine was also predeceased by many aunts and uncles. She is survived by one niece and many cousins. A Funeral Service will be held at the Annunciation of the Virgin Mary Greek Orthodox Church, 70 Montvale Ave., Woburn on Wednesday, January 13 at 11:00 am. An hour of visitation will be held at the church, prior to the service from 10:00-11:00 am. Burial will be at the Woodbrook Cemetery in Woburn. Per current Covid-19 restrictions, we kindly ask that that everyone in attendance wear a face covering, and observe social distancing guidelines during all services and at all venues.
