Obituary of Jacqueline M Sandmo
Jacqueline M. “Jackie” (Connors) Sandmo, 85, a lifelong resident of Woburn, passed away on Wednesday evening, January 13. Jackie was the beloved wife of 58 years to the late Carl G. Sandmo who died in 2014.
Born and raised in Woburn, she was one of eight children of the late Morton, and Karen (Anderson) Connors. “Jackie,” as she was known to her family and friends, was a lifelong resident of Woburn.
Jackie had been a member of the Order of Eastern Star, and she served for many years on the Advisory Board of the International Order of Rainbow Girls, Winchester Assembly. She was a devoted and loving wife, mother, Nana and great grandmother, who’s life revolved around her family.
Jackie is survived by her two daughters, Karen Turner and her husband Donald of Cape Coral, Florida, and Dina Kenney and her husband Christopher of Woburn. She is also survived by nine grandchildren, Kristina Nuehring and her husband David, Jeffrey and Cady Podgur, Erica, Zachary, Donny, and Lauren Turner, and Amanda and Maeghan Kenney. Jackie is further survived by two great grandchildren, Colin and Allison Nuehring; one brother-in-law, Joseph Vasapolli and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her late husband Carl, Jackie was preceded in death by all of her siblings, the late Morton Connors and his wife Norma, Lillian Balestrieri and her husband Salvatore, Martha Southmayd and her husband Jeff, Marjorie Gromyko and her husband Ed, Marion Carta and her husband Tuck, Evelyn Pierce and her husband Richard, and Carole Vasapolli.
Services for Jackie will be private. Arrangements by the Graham Funeral Home, Woburn. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Jackie’s memory may be made to Trinity Episcopal Church, 535 Main St., Woburn, MA 01801
