Obituary of Marilyn J. White

Marilyn White, a longtime resident of Burlington, passed away on Wednesday morning, November 22, 2023. She was 88 years of age. Born and raised in Boston, MA, Marilyn spent her adult life in Burlington, MA. She is survived by her four children, Susan White, Lauren White, Kathryn White, and Steven White as well as her four grandchildren, Rachel Nevins, Lila Johnson, Shane White and Ryan White. Marilyn enjoyed raising her family in the Cedar Street neighborhood, and she continued for the rest of her life to nurture friendships with her Cedar Street neighbors over many afternoon luncheons. Marilyn’s children have fond memories of spending family time at the beach. This included vacations at their summer home on Cape Cod, lazy days spent at Wingaersheek Beach, and the time that the family went to Nantasket Beach early in the morning to watch the sunrise over the ocean and then head over to Paragon Park to ride on the roller coaster. Marilyn enjoyed traveling and especially had fond memories of her trips to Hawaii and Portugal. She was active in the local Burlington Garden Club and sang in the Mishawum Choral Society where she met lifelong friends. Marilyn was a college graduate of Northeastern University where she majored in Psychology. She later trained as a biotechnician and worked for many years in the biotech field at Genzyme, participating in research on human cartilage tissue regeneration. Marilyn had a special place in her heart for her dogs, Cooper and Tucker, who lived their happy lives digging up hundreds of rocks in her backyard and presenting these gifts to her. An avid Bible reader and student of Christianity, Marilyn was a long-time member of Grace Chapel in Lexington. She expressed comfort and joy in her belief that she would be in the presence of the Lord upon her passing. A memorial service will be held at the Grace Chapel, 59 Worthen Road in Lexington on Friday, December 8 at 11:00 am. Burial will be private. Arrangements by the Graham Funeral Home, Woburn.
