Obituary of Norma L. Lynch

Norma Lorraine (Borgeson) Lynch, 89, a life-long resident of Woburn, passed away July 14, 2023. She was the daughter of late Hannah (Noren) & John Borgeson, who both emigrated to Woburn from Sweden. Norma attended the Beverly School for the Deaf and later graduated from the Horace Mann School for the Deaf in Boston in 1952. She was primarily a homemaker and worked as a domestic and later as a Data Clerk before she retired in 1995. Norma had numerous very close friends from her School for the Deaf days. Since 2018, Norma has resided at the New England Home for the Deaf in Danvers where she received such wonderful care and attention. Norma was enormously kind and had a great sense of humor. She could find some things ridiculously funny and was often quite silly. She was thoughtful about the world around her, and often made food for people in need. She loved crocheting blankets for babies of friends and family. Norma is preceded in death by her beloved sister, Doris Eno, and four brothers, Harry, Warren, Lenny, and Albert “Gus” Borgeson. Like her siblings, Norma carried on many of the Swedish traditions including the holiday smorgasbord and baking delicious Swedish treats. She was the loving wife of the late Thomas P. Lynch, to whom she was married for close to 40 years. Norma is survived by one son, Jack Lynch of Medford, MA; three daughters, Marie Lynch and her wife Anne Dineen of Cranston, RI, Susan Moran of Stoneham, and Karen Ceurvels and her husband Brian of Woburn. She was the loving Nana to Nicole, Shannon, Reyle, Eliza, Matthew & Abby, and the Great Nana to Aria, Declan, and Callen. Norma is also survived by her sister-in-law, Patricia Francis & her husband Donnie; and her brother-in-law, Philip Lynch; and she also had numerous nieces and nephews who she loved in addition to her immediate family. A celebration of Norma’s life will be conducted at the Graham Funeral Home, 3 Arlington Rd., Woburn on Wednesday, July 19, 2023 at 11:00 am, with an hour of visitation prior to the service from 10:00-11:00 am. Burial will be private. At the family’s request, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Norma Lynch’s memory to the New England Homes for the Deaf, 154 Water Street, Danvers, MA 01930.
