Obituary of Lorraine B. Moden

Lorraine B. (Kierstead) Moden, 83, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, June 12. She was the wife of the late Karl G. Moden. Raised in Arlington, she was one of three children of the late Charles E. Kierstead, Jr., and the late Marjorie A. (Jones) Kierstead. Lorraine was a graduate of Arlington High School, Class of 1957. Lorraine and her late husband Karl came to Woburn in 1980. She was a third generation Avon sales representative, with her family spanning over 100 years selling Avon products. She enjoyed knitting, sewing, crocheting, crafting and participating in craft shows. Lorraine was also an avid Boston sports fan. She enjoyed supporting all four Boston sports teams. She also worked and volunteered at the Woburn Senior Center. In addition to her late husband Karl, Lorraine was also preceded in death by her brother, the late Charles E. Kierstead, III. She is survived by three sons, Stephen Moden and his wife Mary of Burlington, Scott Moden of Woburn, and Brian Moden and his wife Michelle of Dinwiddie, VA; and nine grandchildren, William Moden, Laurel Moden, Julia Quinones, Andrea Caterino, Leah Kuralic, Sarah Moden, Scott Moden, Jr., Mason Moden, Eleonora Centorino-Moden and one sister, Marilyn Kierstead of Woburn. She is also survived by her former daughter-in-law Diane (Weeks) Moden of Arlington; ten great-grandchildren, 3 nieces, and 1 nephew. Visiting hours will be at the Graham Funeral Home, 3 Arlington Rd., Woburn on Monday, June 19 from 4:00-8:00 pm. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday, June 20 at 10:00 am, followed by burial at the Mount Auburn Cemetery in Cambridge.
