Obituary of Marie C. Farrar

Marie C. (Giordano) Farrar, 87, of Woburn formerly of Winchester, passed away at her home on Friday morning, November 11. She was the beloved wife of the late William W. Farrar, Sr. who died in 2017. Raised in Quincy and Boston’s West End, she was the youngest of three children of the late Calcedonio, and the late Maria Giordano. Marie and William were the loves of each other’s lives. They were married on September 21, 1958. Both Marie and William were active and faithful longtime members of the Crawford Memorial United Methodist Church in Winchester. Marie worked as a sales clerk in several area stores, and prior to her retirement she worked at the former Museum Company store in the Burlington Mall. Marie was a talented painter, in both acrylic and oil; and she was a lover of the arts. most of all, Marie was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother who loved preparing and eating food with friends and family. Marie is survived by two daughters, Mary Ellen Holmes and her husband Doug of Hood River, Oregon; and Sandra Jean Bowers and her husband John of Framingham; and one son, William W. Farrar, Jr. of Chelmsford. She is also survived by one granddaughter, Ashley Pierson and her husband Ryan of LaPine, Oregon; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her late husband William, Marie was preceded in death by her two older brothers, the late Joseph, and the late Onofrio Giordano. A memorial service will be held at the Crawford Memorial United Methodist Church, 34 Dix St., Winchester on Saturday, November 19 at 11:00am. Burial will be private.
