Obituary of Ruth E. Preble

Ruth (Blaisdell) Preble of Wilmington passed away at Care One at Wilmington on Friday, Oct. 7 at the age of 100. Born in Woburn, she was the daughter of the late George and Marie (Sundvall) Blaisdell. She was the beloved wife of Kenneth Preble who passed away in 1970. Before she was married, Ruth worked as a lab technician in various doctor’s offices, leaving to raise her family. Later in life she returned to work and retired from the Bedford VA hospital. Ruth loved her home and flower gardens and passed that love on through to her family. She also enjoyed playing cards and working on puzzles with her children and grandchildren, and especially loved hosting Christmas Eve with all the generations together. Ruth’s family would like to send their sincere gratitude to the staff at Care One who took such good care of her, especially these last few years with Covid restrictions. In addition to her parents and her late husband Kenneth, Ruth was predeceased by her great-granddaughter Kaleigh Markette. Ruth is survived by Joan Denton and her husband Paul of North Andover, James Preble and his wife Martha of Dracut, and John Preble and his wife Michal of Sarasota, Florida. She is also survived by her cherished grandchildren: Lyn Markette and her husband Carmen of North Oxford; Michael Denton and his wife Brenda of Billerica; Rhonda Jusczak and her husband Michael of Dracut; Kimberly Michaels and her husband Jeff of Franklin, NH; Kareen Preble and Eran Preble of PA; Monique Preble, Mia Preble and her husband Raphael Provost, all of France. Ruth is also survived by her great-grandchildren Amber, Kenneth, Keira, and Alec of Franklin, NH; and Martin, Basile, and Gabriel of France. Services and burial will be private.
