Obituary of Thomas D. Grant
Thomas D. Grant, formerly of Medford and Arlington, passed away unexpectedly at the
Lawrence General Hospital in Lawrence on Wednesday, August 31. He was 36 years
of age.
Born in Cambridge and raised in Medford and Arlington, he was the son of Beverly A.
(Grant) Binkowski, and Arthur J. Binkowski of Woburn. “Tommy,” as he was known to
family and friends, was active in youth sports as a child. He played little league baseball, and Popp Warner Football.
Tommy also loved Boston Sports teams and was always ready for a football Sunday or Red Sox game at any given time. He had a very kind demeanor, and he took great pride in his funny sense of humor and ability to make everyone laugh with a joke or remark.
Although Tommy’s time on earth was cut short, we will always remember him as the kid at heart he was, and his love for his family.
In addition to his parents, Beverly and Arthur; Tommy is survived by his daughter, Ava Grant and his son, Daniel Grant. He is also survived by four uncles, Paul Morrison of Woburn, Robert Grant and his wife Nancy of Seabrook, John Grant of Lynn, Thomas Lane of New Orleans, LA; and one aunt, Terri Sackos of Pepperell. Tommy is further survived by many cousins.
A funeral service will be held at the Graham Funeral Home, 3 Arlington Rd., Woburn on Thursday, September 8 at 11:00 am. An hour of visitation will be held prior to the service on Thursday morning from 10:00-11:00 am. Burial will be private.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Tommy’s memory may be made to Ava M. Grant, c/o Salem Five Bank, 2171 Main St., Tewksbury, MA 01876 for Ava and Daniel’s education fund.
