Born in Rethymnon, Greece; she was the daughter of the late Evangelos, and the late Joanna Angelidakis. “Ellie,” as she was known to her family and friends, came to Woburn from Greece in 1968. Ellie was an active and devoted member of the Annunciation of the Virgin Mary Greek Orthodox Church in Woburn. She served on the board of the Ladies Philoptochos Society and Pancretan Association, and was considered the matriarch of the church. She was very involved in the Altavesta PTA and was a volunteer at the school library. She was an amazing baker, cook and needle pointer. Ellie had a joy for life and was a terrific Greek dancer. She and her husband, John, loved traveling to Greece. Her greatest joy came from spending time with her grandchildren. In addition to her husband John; Ellie is survived by two daughters, Cathy McCue and her husband John of Hanover, and Joanna Munroe and her husband Karl of Billerica; and two sons, Ricky Mavredakis and John Mavredakis, both of Woburn. She is also survived by five grandchildren, Olivia, Isabella, and Elianna Munroe, and Connor and Ryan McCue; three sisters, Despina Angelidakis, Anna Dasklomarkakis, and Roula Staras; and many cousins, and nieces & nephews.
