I remember meeting Alex’s “Nana” for the first time almost 11 years ago. We went over for a family cookout and you could instantly tell how much she meant to everyone and how much of an anchor she was for the family. I felt really welcome, like I was already part of the family even though Alex and I had just started dating. She was incredibly hospitable and had such a deep love for her family that you could just feel and I’m grateful to have been able to get to know her. One memory I’ll always cherish is seeing her in the front row when Alex and I performed a few years ago. I know it was hard for her to make it down those steps, but she was so determined to see her grandson perform. It meant so much to both of us and it is something I’ll never forget. She will be so greatly missed ♥️

Ed, Susan, and the entire Thomas family: We were so saddened to learn of Joann's passing. Although recent years have limited our meetings, we hold such fond memories of our times together at Mystic Wellington Yacht Club: the parties at the club; trips to Marina Bay, Plymouth, Salem and beyond; quiet times at the dock as we gathered on our boats for conversation and relaxation on soft summer evenings; occasional dinners together; and even finding us all on the same cruise, sailing to faraway ports, such as Belize.
