Obituary of Janet E. Duarte

Janet (Cramphorn) Duarte, a longtime resident of Tyngsboro, formerly Woburn (Class of 1972), passed away, surrounded by her family, after a courageous battle with cancer and Parkinson’s disease on Tuesday evening, April 5. She was 67 years of age. Born and raised in Woburn, she was the daughter of the late Frederick A. Cramphorn, Jr., and the late Andrea E. (Huckins) Cramphorn. Janet worked for UPS for over 30 years; most of her time was spent in the feeders department in the CHEMA office followed by the Human Resources department in the Shrewsbury office where she finished her career. She spent her last years watching her grandchildren, her absolute pride and joy. She loved the beach, where she spent the last 16 summers renting a Salisbury beach house with her best friend. Janet was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She was known for her chocolate chip cookies and apple pie which were a mainstay at every family gathering. Throughout her battle with Parkinson's, and later with cancer, Janet never complained or let her struggles affect those she loved as she faced every adversity with grace. In addition to her mother and father, Janet was also preceded in death by her sister, the late Carol A. Lencki, and step-mother, the late Elinor Lee Cramphorn. She is survived by her husband, Ken Duarte of Tyngsboro (formerly Billerica); her two daughters, Janel Duarte and her partner Brian, and Allison (Duarte) Fiorentino and her husband Johnny Fiorentino IV. She is also survived by her four grandchildren, Wesley, Fiona, Vivian, and Violet; her siblings, Holly Ippolito, Susan Scaduto, Deborah Wheeler, Scott Cramphorn and Ian Cramphorn; and many beloved nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews. Visiting hours will be held at the Graham Funeral Home, 3 Arlington Rd., Woburn on Saturday, April 9 from 10:00 am-12:00 Noon. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Janet’s memory may be made to the Lung Cancer Research Foundation. (lungcancerresearchfoundation.org) .
