Obituary of Beverly Nugent

Beverly Nugent, of Billerica, formerly of Wilmington and Woburn, passed away on Tuesday, November 23 surrounded by her family after a long battle with metastatic breast cancer. She was 59 years young. It would be wrong to say that Bev lost her battle because she never stopped fighting. Through her, we know what resilience and perseverance truly look like. Raised in Wilmington, Bev was the daughter of the late Edward F. Hicks and the late Eleanor (Spicer) Hicks; and Jane (White) Hicks of Wilmington; and she was the beloved wife of Robert Nugent for 39 years. Beverly was the patient, loving and inspirational mother of, David, Matthew and his wife Samantha, Jessica Nugent and her fiancé Trevor. She is also survived by her grandchildren who quickly became her pride and joy; Eli, Penelope, Wyatt, Madisyn, Quinn and another on the way. Beverly was the devoted sister to Wendy Cunha, Bonnie Hicks, Brett Hicks, Chris Hicks and wife Martha Hicks; and the late Rod and Shawn Hicks. And she was the caring aunt of many nieces and nephews, sister-in-law and cousin to many, and daughter in law to Joseph Nugent and the late Janice Nugent. Bev is also survived by many lifelong friends. Visiting hours will be at the Graham Funeral Home, 3 Arlington Rd., Woburn on Monday, November 29 from 4:00-8:00 pm. A funeral service will be held at the First Church of Woburn, 322 Main St., in Woburn Center on Tuesday, November 30 at 11:00 am, followed by burial at the Woodbrook Cemetery in Woburn. The Nugent and Hicks family wish to extend their gratitude to the Winchester Hospital Cancer Center for their incredible support throughout Bev’s courage fight.
