Obituary of James M. Phelan

James M. Phelan, of Revere, formerly of Woburn, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Sunday, October 31. He was 64 years of age. Born in Arlington and raised in Woburn, he was the son of the late Joseph J. Phelan, Jr., and the late Stella M. (Olszyna) Phelan. “Jim” as he was known to family and friends, was a graduate of Woburn High School, Class of 1975. Jim was a longtime resident of the Marblehead and Lynn area before coming to Revere recently. Jim was an athlete in high school and college, and excelled in hockey. He remained active in sports, hiking, golf, and being outdoors throughout his life. Jim worked for several years as a recruiting and placement specialist for Precision Resources Company, Inc. in Westford, placing skilled engineering and design professionals into jobs. Jim most of all loved spending time with his many friends, and with his family. In addition to his parents, Jim was preceded in death by his sister, the late Linda Silva. He is survived by his two brothers, Joseph J. Phelan, III and his wife Susan of Reading; and John F. Phelan of Woburn. Jim is also survived by one niece and two nephews, Joseph Phelan, IV, Kerry Lewis, and Garrett Phelan; as well as several great-nieces and nephews. Services will be private. Arrangements by the Graham Funeral Home, Woburn.
