Obituary of Michael R Walsh Jr.

Michael R. Walsh, Jr., formerly of Woburn, passed away on Saturday, May 15. He was 42 years of age. Born in Winchester, Michael grew up on the West Side of Woburn. He was educated in Woburn Public Schools, graduating from Woburn High School with the class of 1997. After high school graduation, he enlisted with the Air Force where he served 4 years out of the Tinker Airforce Base in Oklahoma. He also earned his Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science during this time. From there, Michael earned a Law Degree from Washington & Lee University, with the class of 2008. Michael went on to work as the In House Counsel for NER Construction in Wilmington. In addition to his many academic and professional accomplishments, Mike was known for his big smile and amazing wit and sense of humor. He was an avid reader his entire life, and he especially enjoyed reading about philosophy and American history, in particular the Civil and World Wars. He was also a big fan of boxing. Spending time with his family, especially his brothers Shane & Dennis, and his little girls Adalyn & Ava have given him the greatest joy in recent years. Michael is survived by his mother, Theresa (McDevitt) Walsh of Lynn; and his father, Michael R Walsh, Sr. of Burlington. He is also survived by his brothers Shane Walsh and his wife Erin Walsh; and Dennis Walsh all of Woburn. He was predeceased by his sister, Jenna Christine Walsh. Michael is survived by his grandparents Barbara & Robert Walsh of Burlington, many loving aunts, uncles, cousins and friends; and he is survived by his significant other, Hannah Grimes, and their two beautiful children who were his pride and joy and the love of his life, Adalyn & Ava. The family resided in New Hampshire. Visiting hours will be at the Graham Funeral Home, 3 Arlington Rd., Woburn on Wednesday, May 19 from 4:00-8:00 pm. A graveside service will be held at the Woodbrook Cemetery, 100 Salem St., Woburn on Thursday, May 20 at 11:00 am.
