Obituary of Janice H Rose

Janice H. (Gunnerson) Rose, of Framingham, formerly of Wilmington, passed away unexpectedly at her home on Sunday, September 29. She was 82 years of age. Born in Cambridge and raised in Arlington, she was the daughter of the late J. Herbert, and the late Mary (Lewis) Gunnerson; and she was the wife of the late Paul A. Rose who died in 2004. Janice and Paul had lived in several places throughout the World while her late husband was serving in the Air Force. Janice was an avid swimmer, and became involved with swimming programs throughout Japan. After Paul’s retirement from the Air Force in 1975, they came to settle in Wilmington. Janice spent many years employed as a Medical Secretary at the E.N. Rogers Memorial Veterans Hospital in Bedford, retiring in 2004. She loved spending time in Chatham with her family and friends. She loved swimming, boating, reading, cribbage and spending time at the beach. In addition to her parents and her husband, Janice was preceded in death by her daughter, the late Mary Rose; and her brother, the late John Gunnerson. She is survived by her son, Rusty Rose and his wife Mari of Framingham; and two granddaughters, Maegan and Hannah Rose of Framingham. She is also survived by two nieces, Barbara Wilson of Keene, NH, and Marie Gunnerson of Maynard; and many friends and extended family members. A memorial service will be held at the Graham Funeral Home, 3 Arlington Rd., Woburn on Friday, October 4. At 10:00 am. Burial will be private. Contributions in Janice’s memory may be made to a charity of your choice supporting our veterans.
