Obituary of Tasia Tambakis

Tasia (Poulakidas) Tambakis, of Woburn, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Thursday evening, August 27, 2026.

Born and raised in Greece, she was the daughter of the late Kostadinos, and the late Demetra Poulakidas; and she was the wife of Derkos Tambakis.  They had been married for 69 years.

Tasia’s greatest joy was spending time with her family - children, grandchildren and her great-grandson.  She had a passion for gardening as was evident during the spring and summer months when the garden would be over flowing with beautiful flowers, herbs, vegetables and fruit trees.

In addition to her husband Derkos, Tasia is survived by two daughters, Helen Halaris of Woburn, MA; and Jean Papagianopoulos and her husband Peter of Burlington, MA.  She is also survived by her grandchildren, William Papagianopoulos of Burlington, MA, Derek Papagianopoulos and his wife Taylor of Charlestown, MA, and Nicole Halaris of Woburn, MA; and one great-grandson, Peter Papagianopoulos.  Tasia was predeceased by her brother, the late Demetrios Poulakidas and his late wife Helen; the late Nickolas Poulakidas; and she is survived by Nickolas’ wife Emmie.  Tasia also leaves many nieces and nephews.

Services will be private.  Arrangements by the Graham Funeral Home, Woburn.
