Obituary of John F. McHale

John F. McHale, of Revere, formerly of Woburn, passed away after a short illness on Monday morning, January 12, 2026.  He was 83 years of age.

Born and raised in Woburn, he was the son of the late John E. McHale, and the late Clara T. McHale Thompson.  John was a graduate of Woburn Schools.  He was known as “Abe” and “Shaky” to his friends.

Prior to his retirement, John worked as a professional chef.  He worked in catering, and for several area restaurants.  He loved spending time at his camp in Kingston, New Hampshire; and boating on Country Pond in Kingston.

John was an avid New England Patriots fan, as well as a fan of college football.  John also loved Karaoke singing, and was famous for his “Wolfman Jack” impression. John will be remembered as a funny, easygoing man who enjoyed his family and friends.

John is survived by three sons and three daughters, Michael Sean McHale (Garvey) and his husband Bob Burlingham of Los Angeles, CA, Debra Masucci of Derry, NH, John McHale and his wife Kimberley of Orange, MA, Kim McHale and her fiancé Albert Hilton of Manchester, NH, Christopher Caswell and his fiancée Katlyn Bergendahl of Clairton, PA, and Ashley Dabrolet of Quincy. John is also survived by his former wife, Margaret Hagerty of Derry, NH; his sister, Shirley Bragel and her husband George of Quincy, ten grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and he was preceded in death by one granddaughter, the late Kelsey Donahue.  John is further survived by many nieces and nephews who lovingly called him “Uncle Jackie.”

Visiting hours will be at the Arthur P. Graham Funeral Home, 3 Arlington Rd. (cor. of Pleasant St.) Woburn on Tuesday, January 20 from 11:00 am-1:00 pm.  A private burial will follow.
