Obituary of Joan M. Arsenault

Joan M. Arsenault, age 93, of Woburn, Massachusetts, passed away peacefully on December 30, 2025.  She was born in Springfield, Massachusetts on August 22, 1932.

Joan worked for many years at the New England Rehabilitation Hospital in Woburn, where she was widely respected for her dedication, strong work ethic, and the compassion she showed to every patient she encountered. While raising her children, Joan generously gave of her time as a school volunteer, a religious education teacher, and a Brownie leader, always putting others before herself.

In her later years, Joan was an avid reader who cherished simple pleasures, such as going out to dinner or catching a movie with her best friend, Jackie.

Joan is survived by her children, Raymond Arsenault and Sandra Dorgan, both of Billerica, and Thomas Arsenault and his wife, Michelle, of Woburn. She was a loving grandmother to Thomas Arsenault, Jr. and Michael Arsenault.  Joan was sadly predeceased by her oldest grandson, Anthony (Tony) M. Melaragni.  Joan also leaves behind her sister, Sandra Recine; and her nieces, Susan Muntz and Eileen Brady. She was predeceased by her nephew, Robert Recine.

Joan will be remembered fondly by all who knew her and by the many lives she touched throughout her long and meaningful life.  A celebration of Joan’s life will be held at a later date.  Arrangements by the Arthur P. Graham Funeral Home, Woburn.
