Obituary of Ingrid Blackburn
Ingrid Blackburn, of Woburn, passed away on Wednesday morning, December 17, 2025. She was the wife of the late Niles A. Blackburn who passed away in 2006.
Born in Amherst, NH, and raised in Arlington, she was the daughter of the late Dorothy Quincy (Davis) Noring. Ingrid was raised in Arlington Heights, and was a graduate of Arlington High School, Class of 1948.
After high school, Ingrid attended the Burdette School. She went on to work for the Hastings-Tapley Insurance Agency in Woburn from 1968 to 1980. Ingrid enjoyed travelling and spending time with friends.
In 1992, Ingrid and her late husband Niles moved to Camden, South Carolina. She became active in Camden, serving on the Camden Library Committee, the Camden Historic Commission, and she served on the Camden Fine Arts Committee. Ingrid returned to Woburn in 2020, residing at New Horizons at Choate. She was an avid collector of antiques, and a keen reader.
Ingrid is survived by one daughter, Sheryl Emerson and her husband Dave of Arlington; one son, Chris Blackburn and his wife Beth of Wakefield; and two grandsons, Christopher Emerson and his wife Jordana of Northborough, and Brian Emerson and his partner Ailen Hill of Highwood, Illinois. She is also survived by her two great grandsons, Chase and Cody Emerson. In addition to her mother and her husband Niles, Ingrid is preceded in death by her two brothers, the late Ernest and the late George Noring; her sister, the late Dorothy Conn.
