Obituary of Debra G. Crocker

Debra G. (Corporon) Crocker, a longtime resident of Woburn, passed away peacefully in her sleep after a lengthy and courageous battle with Alzheimer’s Disease in the early morning of September 23, 2025 at the age of 72.

Born and raised in Lynn, Deb was the daughter of the late Ashley G. Corporon and the late Dorothy (Bartlett) Corporon. She was the wife of 39 years of the late Steven E. Crocker, who passed away in 2013.

Debra was a graduate of Lynn English High School and of the former Essex Aggie which she attended for cosmetology. After marriage to Steve in 1974, Deb moved to Woburn where she raised her three much-loved rambunctious children, Steven, Adam and Samantha. Prior to her retirement she worked as a hairdresser and also as a sales representative for Avon Cosmetics along with multiple other customer service roles.

With a zest for life and keen sense of curiosity, Deb was known as a social butterfly and loved learning about everyone and everything she came in contact with. She loved meeting new people and could entertain any crowd with her quirky antics and cheerful conversations. Deb created memories that her family and friends will lovingly think back on with laughter and smiles. She will be missed by many.

A lover of arts, with a focus in music and singing, Deb was a longtime member of the Mishawum Choral Society, while also singing in the choir for the Montvale Congregational Church in Woburn. She appreciated many different genres including hymnal songs, folk, indie, country, and Chagigah (88.9) -with a fondness of songs in minor keys. Deb enjoyed many Broadway shows and multiple concerts with her daughter, Sam, including Willie Nelson, The Eagles, Prince, Amy Winehouse, and James Taylor.

A kind and gentle woman, Deb loved all creatures great and small, and had several pets, including her beloved late dogs Jake, George, Lily, and cats and birds while also tolerating her children's many reptiles. She also loved nature, particularly walking throughout Horn Pond for bird watching and to see which other critters would lurk about. She also enjoyed New England road trips and camping at Papoose Pond in Maine, and especially loved the Red Sox with their opening day fly-over being eagerly awaited.

She is survived by two sons, Steven M. Crocker and his wife Pamela of Florida, formerly of Woburn MA, and Adam Crocker of Woburn MA and one daughter, Samantha Crocker, of Woburn MA; one cherished granddaughter, Emilee Crocker of Los Angeles, CA. Debra is also survived by her five siblings, Joan O’Brien of Lebanon ME, Ronald Corporon of Newburyport MA, Glen Corporon of Jacksonville FL, Douglas Corporon of Seabrook NH, and Christina Neth of Merrimac MA, multiple brothers and sisters in law and many nieces and nephews. 

A memorial service will be held at the Montvale Congregational Church, 36 Orange St. (Cor. of Central St.) in Woburn on Saturday, October 18  at 11:00 am.  In lieu of flowers, contributions in Debra’s memory may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 320 Nevada St., Suite 201, Newton, MA 02460.
