Obituary of Nola A. Bennett

Nola Alice (Jack) Bennett passed away peacefully Thursday, February 20, surrounded by her family. Nola was born on Feb 22, 1937. She was 87 years of age.

Born and raised in Melrose, she was the daughter of George and Alice (Tebeau) Jack. When Nola was a teen, she met the love of her life, Jack Bennett. They married in 1956, and had such love and devotion for each other for 68 years.

In 1960 Nola and Jack built a family home in Woburn, where they raised 5 children and made lifelong friendships with their neighbors. During summer months, they spent time visiting the Perry's Camp on Great East Lake. They enjoyed camping trips at Lake Ossipee with the Jack and Quinn families. There wasn't a summer without some backyard pool parties and weekend visits to the family cottage on Plum Island. Nola and Jack hosted many Christmas parties throughout the years surrounded by family and friends.

Nola worked in Woburn Public schools as a Special Education Aide, a rewarding job she loved. Years later, she worked in home health care assisting the elderly. She was a caring woman and made so many feel special, effortlessly.

Nola will be remembered as a person loved by all. She had a deep devotion for her family and a great love for her husband Jack. She was a very patient person always sharing her beautiful smile with everyone.

She enjoyed spending time with her children as she was a dedicated mother who was always involved in their activities. She enjoyed attending school programs, plays, sports and many hockey games. This joy continued to spill over into the lives of her many grandchildren and great grandchildren throughout the years.

In 1986, Nola and Jack bought a home in Ft. Pierce Florida, where they enjoyed the sunshine during winters months. There, they forged many long-time friendships. Traveling to Alaska, Italy, Spain and some National Parks together. They enjoyed the beach, boating and sitting poolside, playing bocce, and attending Hawaiian luaus. She always looked forward to visits from her children and grandchildren.

Nola and Jack constructed the cottage on Plum Island into a year-round home in the 1990's. Her dear sister Heather lived with them for 10 years before her passing. Heather was loved by all, far more than a 'teeny bit'.

It's hard to put into words how cherished Nola was by all of her family and friends. She will be fondly remembered as a loving mother, so dedicated to her family and a great love for her husband Jack. Nola had great patience and always had a smile on her face. She enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren, and eager to hear an update or a funny story about them.

In addition to her parents, Nola was predeceased by her brothers James Jack of Reading, Doug Jack of Windham NH, and her dear sister Heather Jack. Nola leaves behind two loving sisters-in-law, Kay Jack and Jane Jack.
