Obituary of Marcia Murray

Marcia Scott Murray, 83, of Dracut, formerly of Woburn, passed away on Tuesday February 18, 2025.  She was the wife of Jack Murray.

 

Born on May 5, 1941 in Winchester, Massachusetts, she was the daughter of the late Marjorie (Danforth) and the late Robert Scott.  Marcia grew up in Winchester. She enjoyed sports, excelling at tennis, basketball and field hockey.

 

After her marriage, she and Jack lived in Woburn for most of their married life. Marcia was a homemaker while her daughters were young. Once she was ready to return to the workforce she was employed by ESSCO Standard Labs as an office manager until her retirement. Marcia was an active member and was always quick to volunteer at the Bay State Baptist Church. She enjoyed taking care of her family and playing with her grandchildren.

 

Marcia is survived by her husband of 62 years, Jack Murray.  She is also survived by two daughters, Beth Clark and her husband Kenneth, and Sandy Spicer and her husband Bryan; and six grandchildren, James Clark, Nicholas Spicer, Devonne Lucas, Amy Clark, Lucas Spicer, and Jillian Spicer; and four great-granddaughters.  She is further survived by her brother Robert Scott, Jr., and she is predeceased by her brother, the late Scott (Danny) Rice.

 

Visiting hours will be at the Bay State Baptist Church, 337 Boston Rd, Billerica on Saturday, February 22 from 10:00-11:00 am, followed by a celebration of life at 11:00 am.  Contributions in Marcia’s memory may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 320 Nevada Street, Suite 201, Newton, MA 02460 (www.alz.org); or the Bay State Baptist Church, 337 Boston Rd, Billerica, MA 01821; or the charity of your choice.
