Obituary of Thelma H. Mikoluk

Thelma H. Mikoluk, 96, of Woburn, passed away peacefully on Saturday morning, February 8, 2025.  She was the wife of the late Theodore Mikoluk.

Born and raised in Burlington, she was the daughter of the late Oscar, and the late Martha Thorstensen.  Thelma grew up in Burlington, MA, and resided with her husband and sons in Woburn for several decades.  Thelma nurtured her family with love and dedication.

Among Thelma’s many talents and interests were horses, of which she owned several as a young woman and rode in numerous competitions, winning many ribbons, including at a western show at the original Boston Garden.

Thelma was also a keen and talented artist, baking spectacular wedding cakes for friends and family, and using pens and colored pencils to create gorgeous pictures. Her questing mind led her to explore extensively topics such as the history of Egypt and the British Royal Family.

She had an impressive collection of dolls of all types, for which she occasionally created hand-decorated cradles and outfits. She brought beauty and love into the world, and her memory will always be cherished.

Thelma was preceded in death by her late husband Theodore, who passed away in 1998.  She was the beloved mother of Gary Mikoluk and his wife Lissy Friedman, Alan Mikoluk, and David Mikoluk. She was the sister of the late Arthur and the late Roy Thorstensen.  Thelma is also survived by 11 nieces and nephews.

Visiting hours will be at the Graham Funeral Home, 3 Arlington Rd., Woburn on Tuesday evening, February 11 from 4:00-7:00 pm.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Thelma’s memory may be made to the Massachusetts Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (MSPCA) 350 South Huntington Ave. Boston, MA 02130 (www.mspca.org)
