Our condolences and prayers to George’s family and friends . George worked with my Dad, Brad Gillis, at the Post Office for many years. George spent a lot of time with my parents over the years and attended many of our family gatherings. We have such fond memories. I bumped into him a few years ago and it was so nice to catch up. A really outstanding guy! Rest in peace, George. Maureen (Gillis) McRae and family

George was a fixture of Frederick Dr. and Marion Ave for as long as I remember. He walked around the block just about every day when I was a kid. Sometimes he stopped by and talked with my mother in the kitchen about what was going on amongst the neighbors. Then in later years for a beer or two and maybe some BBQ in the backyard during the summer with my dad and me. He was a Happy-Go-Lucky guy, always had a good story to tell. I missed seeing him around during the past years, the old neighborhood lost a part of itself. Rest in peace George, it was a pleasure knowing you. Dave Olson.
